Celebrate Pennsylvania’s extraordinary contribution to American jazz with an evening of live music, storytelling, and state pride featuring the Keystone Jazz Septet.

Lancaster vocalist Amy Banks joins the ensemble for selected vocal features.
Pennsylvania Jazz Masters honors the legendary musicians with deep connections to the Commonwealth whose artistry helped shape America’s greatest original art form. The program celebrates the music of jazz icons including Art Blakey, Bobby Timmons, Benny Golson, Lee Morgan, John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Henry Mancini, Jimmy Heath, Stanley Turrentine, Ahmad Jamal, Tommy Dorsey, Nina Simone, Billy Strayhorn, and Grover Washington Jr. The repertoire includes beloved jazz works such as “Moanin’,” “Along Came Betty,” “Ceora,” “Lazy Bird,” “Sugar,” “Poinciana,” “I’m Getting Sentimental Over You,” and “Mr. Magic.”
Banks is featured on “God Bless the Child,” “Moon River,” “Feeling Good,” and Billy Strayhorn’s timeless ballad “Lush Life.”
More than a concert, the program combines outstanding live performance with engaging stories about the artists, their Pennsylvania roots, and their lasting influence on American music. Audiences are entertained while discovering the remarkable role Pennsylvania musicians have played in the history and evolution of jazz.
